Hello everyone,
I am a very new newbie! Blush! Blush!
I wondered if could ask you all a question I have just bought a 1996 Fiat Punto Diesel which has been fine, starting lovely, driving well, but tonight I have gone into the garage to get the car and waited for the light on the dash to go out before I started it.
I turned the engine over but it wouldn't start so I tried again from the beginning. The light that came on wasn't the glow plugs (as I had thought) light it was another warning light which I can't really find any information on apart from it being on only the ELX versions, this light went off but the Key Code light stayed on. I have found bits of info on having keys and code cards, I bought the car second hand which came with only one black thin key, is this the problem?
On sunday I cleaned the car over generally and also cleaned off some of the grime in the engine bay and on more major areas but to my knowledge I don't *think* I have caught anything electrical in there.
I cleaned most of the engine bay with an almost dry cloth just on water bottles, lids etc. but the odd thing is I drove the car back into the garage after cleaning it?
I just wondered if anyone else has anyone experienced anything like this and if there is a simple fix I could look at completing.
Cheers,
Marmy : )
