Hi

Just wanted to see if anybody could give me some advice on fitting my new Amp & Sub into my Mk2 Punto, I Currently got a kenwood KCD-W4527 andwant to connect up my new amplifier (A Blaupunkt GTA270) up to the headunit. Not goin to lie im a relative novice to the whole modding scene but we all gotta start some place.

Anyways I have been given many suggestions with regards to powerin the Amp (I was obviously goin to connect it up to the mains but my mate tells me that I can connect it up to the remote out on my headunit). I know a lot of you (If not all) have done this task at one point or another so was lookin for your experience and advice to help me - long shot i know but surely one of u guys is willin to give me a hand :p

I am looking to put the amp into my boot so was wondering what cable route is most common to use in an Mk2 punto.

Cheers in advance

Mark

The amp will be powered by the battery, the remote from the headunit will switch the amp on and off automatically when the headunit is turned on and off. Best way to wire it is usually down the sides of the car, power down one side and the RCA's down the other side.

Welcome to the site btw, whereabouts you from?

Im from Glasgow area, had my punto couple of months now - been skint so new wheels is all I got so far. Just not did anything electrical to my old car so just not 100% sure bout doing anything yet.

Hopefully not too dificult

Nice car, where you from?

Cool,

Hopefully get my Amp & Sub delivered on Tuesday so give it a try then, do you know of any sites which contain details on connecting up the battery to the Amp (kinda worried about connecting to mains) Also would running all the cabling down one section cause any sort of problems as Im not really wanting to be removing all the upholstery etc on both sides.

Running the power and speaker wires together can cause interferance, best bet is to run them seperate for the best sound. Usually get instructions on how to wire it up with the wiring kit.

Cheers buddy

Just new to the site so all help is appreciated, always on the look out for hot puntos in Glasgow(ish) area, especially when they got hot female drivers as well :p Anyways I found a couple of comprehensive guides online so I'll keep you posted on how I get on.

Thanks Again

LL
