Technical Punto Mia - Door opening and clicking noise

Can anyone tell me how to cure a clicking noise when I open both driver and passenager door, do they just need grease on the hinges or is it something else.

Tighten the check strap bolts, if tight, replace check strap roll pin.

if you open your door slowly and watch the checkstrap or what ever you want to call it - its a fairly thin piece of metal which moves in the door but is attached to the door frame, watch as you open and close it - if you see if moving and clicking then there is the problem

Where do you actually go about getting a replacement? and how easy/hard is it? as i currently have my driver side doing it alot its not very nice to listen to

Yep the thin piece of metal is moving when opening, which i think is making the clicking noise.

Ok will have to look into it further.

i have the same as well. unsure if its the strap or the bolt tho as i can see movement in the strap where the bolt is if that makes sense. id like to know where to get replacement parts and how easy is it to sort for a novice?

u have to replace it from the inside, u can do it by removing the speaker, buts its a fiddley job.
i assume you could order them from your local fiat garage.

have you check to see if the bolts on the door side are tight, as these can cause it to click also.

it has what looks like a bodge job bolt fitted there at the mo. could it be a wrong sized bolt that causes it?

I had this same problem on a three-door Mk1 1.2 60S (driver's side).

After a while, and a louder click, something must have fallen off as the door doesn't stop in half-open position anymore. It just opens wide - but at least there is no clicking now!

I would like to know what the replacement part is called

i have a punto that iam fixing up at the minute and the passenger door was clicking when i got it.
i knew what the noise was as i had a punto before.
turned out the catch that bolted onto the car was broke and one of the bolts was loose, tightened it up and it was grand.
the drivers one has snapped off completely and swings free but i will be replacing it soon.

simple greasing will not do, either tighten them up or replace the strap.
