Hi, just acquired a Fiat Punto 1.4 Sporting 16v Mangoletsi. The car is three years old and has done just 3,700 miles and looks like new. Wondered if anyone can fill me in on what exactly a Mangoletsi version means compared to basic model. The motor's got a Mangoletsi chrome badge on the back and Italian coloured badges either side of body. Any help appreaciated.

From what i can see on the internet, Mangoletsi is a car dealer.
:)

Mangoletsi is indeed a car dealership chain, they specialise in Alfa Romeo's but evidently have done a Punto or two!

They usually faff around with custom intakes, panel filters and remaps.. The remap side of things being the main bit of their modifying business!

Example of their Alfa 'Performance Upgrades': http://www.mangoletsi.com/alfa/special-offers/performance-upgrades.html

Thanks for the tips guys, understand the car a little better now. I've looked at many Puntos on the net now and one difference seems to be that very few have sun roofs. Mine has sun roof over both front and back seats, although only front tips and slides. Is this likely to be a modification by Mangoletsi does anyone know? Also never had six-gear vehicle before, any tips on best way to drive one for economy?

Thats the skydome (y)

And they are an optional extra.

Also, get a thread posted in the members motors, I'm interested in what this looks like :)

tips on driving a 6 speed vehicle... use all 6

I don't think 'Mangoletsi' have done anything to the car at all, sounds totally stock to me. Alot of car garages/dealerships will put either a window sticker in the rear window, or stick a metal badge onto the back, it's not uncommon.

So, sorry to say, it's not a 'special edition' or 'modified', its just the dealership trying to get some free advertising :)

I'd take it off ASAP if it were me. First thing did when I got mine from my Mum was rip out the 'D.Salmons' sticker from the rear window. Keep meaning to get around to cleaning the glass too as its left a lovely big mark :/

Thanks again guys. Thankfully no stickers on the car just as I mentioned before chrome Mangoletsi badge on rear left boot and Italian colour badges on either side. My wife is driving the car so I doubt any mods on the way....unlike my E30 325ise M-tec beemer!
Just out of interest my son has a P reg Fiat coupe which he's had for several years now, I think he bought it to outpace my car!!
