Does anyone know if theres any difference between the punto gt afm and the mk2 ut afm. if theres differences, will it be good or bad for the engine?

will it fit the mk2 afm plug on the mk2 loom?

(y)

oooooooook

was that a "no" to is there any difference?

or

"no" to will it fit the mk2 loom/plug

cheers tho (y)

if it doesnt fit the mk2 loom/plug, i can always bodge it mate :D im quite handy with a soldering iron these days (especially after my megasquirt episode with my ut  )

why steve, i wanna know. wouldnt be to do with the punto using a lambda would it? if so, i conviently have a lambda sensor kicking around in my garage.

dunc, im seriously thinking of squirting the ut lump yes, but i wanna get the front subframe made up 1st and then ram the sod in the smallest space known to mankind 1st :bang:

so for the mean time id like an afm if anyone has one kicking about, none on ebay.

cheers,

j

ps anyone got a shoehorn?

Punto had a Motronic system with a mass air flow sensor (hot wire)
Uno has L Jetronic system with a volume air flow sensor (vein)

L jet uses 12V AFM signal, direct power supply from the battery
Motronic uses 5V signal, regulated from the ECU

Uno LE3 Jet has the Fuel ECU built into the AFM!

Even if you could wire it up the signal output will be totally different so it would not run properly.

cheers steve!! (y) ur a legend! i dont think i'll bodge it then :D

THINK I'LL MEGASQUIRT IT THEN! (y)

cheers tho, ive seen them go for 30 odd quid aswell!!

I also found out after a long search and numerous phone calls to afm specialists, remanufactures, spares places, you name it, and was informed that they are the same as early corsa's (the body of the afm) and you have to use your ecu that sits on the top with 4 screws, so at least theres more scope maybe other cars wore the same afm who knows? i have a spare but afm's have always been crap i had 4 on my pug (in 12 years Tho) but i hate them!!! bring on the megasquirt, my friend is currently installing one on a 205 (with turbo engine from a citroen xm 2.0) and not far off finished, he knows his stuff!! he said it would be a piece of ****, maybe the future!, not many of them africans and brazilians are running std management, they have omex, dictator, mr turbo, etc Ant!
