Posting in here as not sure of exact model of Punto (I'm terrible with newer number plates, haven't learned them yet so's I know what year the car is).

Won't start but turning over. I thought it sounded like no spark, but owner said it had gone empty & was refuelled, then had trouble starting, and suspected air got into the fuel line. Could hear what sounded like the fuel pump while it tried to start (faint electrical buzzing, might have been coil but was more in location of fuel side & continuous).

I noticed the key light on the dash was flashing during key turns, but was late for an appointment and forgot to ask if it always does that.

Out of interest, should the key light always flash when starting the car, or does that indicate something was up (eg, might it have immobilised itself due to safety cut-outs regarding no fuel, or X amount of fails to start, something like that)?

Is there a reset for the fuel pump / pressure?

I don't know the guy, just someone I met while out & he had car trouble. Does the key light flashing mean that it wasn't letting the plugs spark / had immobilised?
