Hello gentlemen and ladies. I have established from a French site that my Fiat 500 F, chassis number 3085398 was made in 1972 so tax free, what do I need to do to prove this ? for the DVLA. I think someone somewhere offered to get the necessary docs for a fee ?.

Chance; If you contact Tim Speechley at Fiat UK ([email protected]) who is the 'Homologation Executive' he can give you written (by e-mail or letter) confirmation of when your car was built. I found him to be a very helpful person--this should help you get started with registering the car in the UK.

Have you the original log book or registration document for wherever it was originally sold? France/Italy etc. DVLA will accept that if you have it.
You will also need a VAT Form 414 plus all the usual docs - MOT, V55, Insurance, Cheque etc. Having just done it, please feel free to ask anything!
