I'm sick of my soot filter regeneration.
I drive a diesel so it's a bit cheaper and once you have spared some money on fuel it burns it all to regenerate the soot filter:bang:

So I have been looking around and found the Protoxide replacement part.
http://www.protoxide.eu/nl/downpipe...pipe-di-scarico-per-grande-punto-mjet-19.html

As no filter is there the back pressure of the exhaust will drop causing the turbo to spool up quicker.
Also no soot build up so no regeneration.

But I'm worried about a couple of things:

Soot exhaust measurement.
Since 2007 the "dutch" MOT does not rev the engines anymore but readse the ECU for the soot filter values. If these are OK it passes the MOT.
Will this replacement cause trouble with the ECU?
Will it bring up a warning light?
Will it cause errors on the values needed for MOT?

Fuel delivery
As I have not chipped my car I'm wondering if replacing the soot filter with this piece of hardware will impact the need for fuel so much that the car needs a remap.
Is this just a stupid thought or maybe true?

I read the topic of the other 1.9 mjet with this replacement.
But he has remapped his ECU.

You wont need a remap but it would tie in nicely with one.

Soot values etc shouldn't matter as that only removes the pre cat. Not the full cat underneath the car if you have one. Unless you have a DPF.

I have a DPF.
I thought that this Protoxid piece would replace the DPF.
But I'm wrong I guess?

Yeah that only replaces the pre cat.

The DPF is underneath the car where the cat would usually be. If you lie down and look underneath you will be able to see it.

Only way to remove it would be going to a custom exhaust shop and getting it cut out and a piece of pipe welded in place. Then it would definitely need a remap to help it run right.
