Hello!

So, I'm sat here thinking about a TV for my chill out room, and the ones I am looking at are £600-700, which I just can't afford really.

So I thought about a projector.

Been looking around and the cheapest I saw was about £200ish from China/HK etc, and states it was 1080p etc. Would you think a cheap £200 would do the job for Xbox 360, PC, Wii etc?

Are they heavy on power compared to a LCD TV?

Oh and how far do you have to have it from a wall exactly?

It doesn't say it's 1080p, it says it supports 1080p. Not the same thing. Check the spec and you'll see it has a maximum resolution of 1024x768, which is 720p at best.

Yes it's cheap but I always find you get what you pay for.

But again, 1024x786 naitive... and the contrast is crap!

and yeah, you do get what you pay for. The 40" TV in the front room is a belter! But we paid for it...

Seems cheap and nasty to me. A 1080p projector here will cost about 800notes @ trade cost.

Might scrap the idea then and go back to the £600 odd TV.

Not the point I was making but nevermind.

Yes we are ripped off but you do get what you pay for (most of the time).

One brand that is often overlooked as cheap crap is "InFocus" the ones I've seen have been really bright and sharp!

Thing is with projectors is lamp life, Watch a lot of TV, play Games a lot etc etc you could need a new lamp yearly.
