I just picked up some industrial sized projectors from work, quite modern, do HD etc. One of them is perfect, one ok, and one has this funny green tint all over the screen. Its not a colour setting, more like a green haze.

Any ideas what it is and if it's sortable? They're Sanyo PLC-XP45s, 3 LCD projectors, and this is with a new bulb!

Cheers

nice one! not sure what the green haze would be. is it on the menus? is not then i might be a simple dry solder joint on RGB connector cable or HD lead maybe?

projectors are great. we have one and its awesome to watch films on. there is so much detail (on jap horrors usualy) that you dont see on a tv (even a large tv) that you will on a 6foot + screen

The cables are fine as i'm using a D-SUB from my laptop, and the haze is definately a haze rather than something that is being fed to the projector if you see what i mean.

I'll try get a photo for you!

Ok here are 2 images, first is from the good projector, second from dodgy one. They're both projecting a black powerpoint slide!

The green is accentuated a little by my camera but you get the idea.

Looks like it could be a problem with the green lcd of one of the projectors!

Yep, you've got a faulty lcd panel, probably the blue or red as you are seeing green. Can be quite an expensive fix.

surely if the image should be black, then the red and blue are working ok, its just the green panel which is letting light bleed through?
not if its stuck in the "off" state... letting 100% green thru. Lcd "usualy" work backwards to the way you think... no power is 100 off (lcd screen with no power to RGB will "usualy" make a white screen)

Ah, so it could just be a dodgy connection? Although i doubt this as its a haze rather than the whole image being green (as it looks on the photo!)
