problems with 80sx

Hi all since replaceing the downpipe with joint paste on my 80sx it idles at 1500rpm and pulses up and down on its own to 2000rpm and also misfires at idle and under power. Any suggestions would be helpful many thanks...

check ur HT leads are all fitted correctly and connecting to the spark plugs, my engine used to cut out til i fiddled a bit and pushhed the ht leads furtheur in to the spark plug
