problems starting my Fiat Multipla

I bought a fiat multipla last week and I am now having problems starting the car. When I try to start the car the 'key code' light stays on and I cant start the car. This doesnt happen all the time though. I have 2 blue keys and it happens with both of them.
Is this something my local garage can deal with or is it something that a fiat specialist will need to look at?

petrol or diesel...could be time for a new code box. If got from garage take it back for them to repair.

Its petrol. Will it be expensive to get new code box? Thanks

'could be' the code box....

as with most faults it will need to be verified, box is £100 odd + another £15 for aerial.
