Hi,

I bought my Fiat Bravo 1.6 100 SX last month. I noticed that you can change the stereo by installing a fascia into the dash. Well, i bought a fascia and tried to install my Blaupunkt stereo, but no power to the unit. Dose anyone know if i would need an adapter harness for the unit?

I would be grateful for nay help

Thanx for that. i have had a look at the Ice page. Still not sure what cables i have to change. I hope there is an easier way to sort this, or maybe someone can tell me what 2 cables i need to change.?

Cheers

Swaping the two cables listed in the guide (Red & Yellow), may not solve your problem. (With these wires the wrong way round, the radio should still work, but loose the radio etc. settings when switched off.)

But it might be worth a try. (Get a multimeter to check which is perm live.)

Red and yellow cables, to alternate the power.

Cam, the car Newbie.

Thanks for that. Sorry for sounding dumb.So i swap arround the yellow/black (Radio lighting feed) with the red (permenent feed) within the feed and earthing block? Hope thats right?

Cheers

Not the yellow and black. The yellow one and the red one need swapping at the back of the set, not on the car plug!

Thankx, could you tell me what set? i thought the the wires on the plug had to be swapped. from the radio wiring guide on the ice page http://www.bravo-guide.co.uk/ice.htm, what part of then guide should i be looking at. Thankx again. G

I have just had another look at the wiring. Don't understand what i have to do to resolve this. It might be easier for me to buy a new head unit. Can anyone recommend a headunit that will work on the standard Bravo wiring?

I'm sure you don't need to go to the extreme of buying a new head unit as 99% (if not 100%) of aftermaket head-units should work fine...

Can you find a link to manual of your current head-unit?

I think I may have found the culprit. I have only just noticed that my Electric windows are not working. Checked the Bravo owner handbook. Looks like the electric window control module is on the same fuse as the sound system (Location = C-1P) 7.5 amp fuse. I must have blown the fuse when i was taking out the old AD182H2 stereo. Can't believe it. Spent most of the weekend trying to fit this head unit in, and all along it was a fuse.

Oh well, thankx to you all anyway.

Cheers
