Technical PowerSteering and fault codes!

Hi! A few weeks ago I lost the powersteering on my Mk.II 16v

Today I got the following fault codes:

C1016 "Servopump
C1007 "Electric motor"
C1012 "CAN: Speed signal"

U1601 - "Canwiring error"

My first thought here is that it's a wiring issue with the speedsensor, which I hope will clear the C1007 too. I've read about a wiring mod, and my has a red wire to the left of the OBD, which looks homemade'ish/out of place. Could that be said mod?

Where to go from here?

U1601 is usually related to the key signal not been recieved so igbore this

Ealier mk2s 1999 - 2002 ish had relay motors which did fail
Later 2002 to 2006 had relay-less
These systens as far as i understand arent interchangeable

I was afraid that the CANBUS-errors where giving me where wiring related.

Do you agree that changing the little motor is the way forward?

I found a 3 pole connector at the back of the gearbox, that looks like it could be for the speed sensor, but I can't find any counterpart.

Is the wiring still in place, even no sensor is mounted?

If the car has abs - then the speed is dome via abs sensors and engine bay loom

However some fiats have other looms fitted to keep production moving instead of stalling
So chances are you got the engine loom which had the non abs speed sensor wiring

Ive got the engine bay aircon loom but no aircon anywhere else
It doesnt usually cause issues

That's comforting. I've switched the PAS motor to no avail.

What would you do in my situation? Change all the ABS sensors?

Where can I find wiring diagrams? Mine is the ELX, Google doesn't really come up with anything.
