hey guys, i have just been looking around the novitech website and they have a electronic tuning box, designed for the 1.9 jtd. Gives the car an extra 30 hp. which does not seem to bad. Is anyone thinking of doing it?

You have to be carefull with these type of products as some of them just put car into cold start mode ( lots of fuel = lots of black smoke ) i think for the cost your better off with a remap personally
i thought the Novitec Powerrail, is a programed box just like an eprom. thus it was not like the s**t resistor things that ppl buy off ebay.. which definately put the car into cold start.. is there anyone with experience of using any such device???

I am not saying this product puts the car to cold start - but some do - it is possible this one does not looking at the price, but still do some research - have you emailed them for details. The website i saw was very limited on information

If you're going to get a tuning box (and not a remap) for your Fiat, novitec is the one to get.
They are specialists in tuning Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Ferrari.
I even had one on my old Punto JTD and it worked like a charm.
That said, I personally prefer a remap, but the novitec tuning box would be my second choice.
thats good to hear, i was thinking it would be better for when it went in for servicing etc... with the ability to remove the box. how easy was it to fit the box on ur old car?
The one I had was one of the first ones they made (back in 2001) so it wasn't easy (took about an hour), but i think the powerrail 2 has a new system which clicks on very easily (in something like 5 min), but you better send them a mail and ask.
