Punto (Mk2/2b) Power steering then battery drain

Just joined
Got a Fiat Punto 1.2 8v that drains battery within 4 hours
Disconnected the new alternator didn't drain battery after that so reconnected alternator and disconnected wire to ecu, didn't drain battery so I assume the ECU is faulty - power steering goes very stiff and the battery light stayed on as the first sign of this fault 2 weeks ago and I need to get it sorted before my son needs the car to go to work next week
Any help would be appreciated.

hello there old buddy

if you got multimeter you can check for parasitic drain here and if charging voltage is around 14V when everything electrical is on its still all good

as for pas light it is related to low battery voltage more here
