Possibly the worst new car I've ever driven

Just got back from our national conference in darkest Cheshire.... had a hire car to get to venue from Manchester Airport and back.

It was an 07 plate Vauxhall Vectra not the interesting turbo diesel (same 150 engine as Stilo 150 and as in new Bravo etc) but a 1.8 petrol. Not only was it a wallowy, unresponsive P.O.S but it was just soooooooooooooooooo slow :-s and the blandest car I've ever driven. Who, in their right mind, would ever buy one privately :?

I drive a fair few new Vectra's and Astra's in work and I agree they are totally bland to drive - it gives you nothing back.

I don't even think its got anything to do with what engine is in it, they are horrible cars to drive and even the interior is very drab. The astra's we have are 1.6 SXI if I remember correctly (don't quote me on this) and they have no pull what so ever they just seem to roll everywhere. Certainly would be disappointed if I purchased one.

PS, the worst car I've ever driven was a Kia Mentor 2 - it's beyond words how bad this car is.

All Kia cars are based on a carboard cut-out so it makes sense it was ****.

The Toyota Aygo is also a disaster of cars - I think they fitted an old Fiesta Gearbox into it.
