That would be a laugh with a MK1 Turbo lump in it dropped on some Ronal Turbos! (y)

I think that would actually be cool..........Like in the dub scene, they are taking Automatic MK1 Golf 5-doors and modding them!

i know some people say ONLY the top model should be modded but in this case being a rare Uno, it should be done!

Proper old skool! :yum:

:yeahthat:

5 door 'sleepers' can look really, really cool. Slam it onto some Euro rims, maybe smooth some of the bodywork but otherwise keep the outside standard. Keep the big mods for under the bonnet and in the suspension department for the 'surprise' factor. You could also fit turbo front and rear seats and also the turbo/ sx instrument pod. As for engines, UT lump or as it's a 55S model (ohc non FIRE engine) the X1/9 1500 engine will go straight in as will the 1600 Tipo (almost a straight swap).

As for only modding the top models - rubbish! With cars like the Uno there wasn't a huge difference between the models other than the poverty spec base version. Besides, at the age they're at it doesn't matter what the spec is, it's how solid the shell is.

I'm liking the idea of a 5 door modded Uno. I might just look into something like that when my 3 door 45S comes off the road for its makeover *watch this space* ;)
