My car has started pulling to the left and I suspect a pothole somewhere has knocked the tracking out. Lurking on the fiat forum I've noticed posts about laser tracking however I don't know what this is or if it's a standard service provided by most tyre places. Can any of you advise and more importantly tell me if this is a dealer fix or if my local friendly tyre place can do this.

Thanks

ETA: Car is a Grande Punto 1.6 Multijet Sporting

it can be done anywhere with the correct equipment

look for local places that advertise wheel alignement, most tyre places do tbh, but very few will touch it if the track rod ends look manky incase they are siezed and cause damage...which is a bit of a pain, seeing as track rod ends quickly do get manky without seizing.

Plenty of garages have optical systems, laser system is just fancier and is perhaps more appropriate for fine tuning tracking and alignment.
Most garages carry the right kit to do the job, you could probably get it done just about wherever you fancied.

I hate to ask a potentially daft question, but have you checked the tyre pressures since going through the pothole? Just worth checking.......

Do not get Laser alignement, they are indeed very costly. Usually done on those tuning places. My brother got it done in his Civic, it cost around £100, but it does take ages!

I'd just take it to the usual placel ike kwik fit, and ask them to check your tracknig is all free of charge :) .

Thanks

I had to google track rod ends  Don't think it'll be a problem as the car is only 7 months old. Mind you after the winter we've just had who knows

Bridge of Don, I believe Wallace or Laws do Laser tracking? In fact, the place here in Ellon, Ellon Car Clinic, might do it. It's certainly worth asking!

Thanks, but judging by Mings post I may simply pay Kairdson a visit on Saturday morning

It's probably best if people do ask me the daft questions as there is a strong chance I won't have done the obvious  However in this case I have

So you think just normal tracking may be good enough. That's great.

Thanks all for taking the time to reply. My past cars were very basic and this is the first complex motor I've owned. All these fancy technological features are beyond me at the moment - I didn't even have PAS in my old car. This is my warning that I may have lots of questions in the future
