Firstly Hello, I am new here and own a Fiat Ducato 10 1.9TD van that I use for work (plastering).

I had been looking for other owners of this vehicle who may have had problems in the past as I was on the lookout for signs of common faults.

I may however be able to offer some good advice of my own, I had recently been experiencing over heating in the engine, usually when motorway driving but occassionally round town too. The cooling fan would be on and off all the time and the temp gauge was on the way into the red many times. A mechanic I know checked out the radiator and whoever had owned the vehicle previously had topped up brake fluid and spilt some fluid that had run down onto the radiator and damaged the copper fins inside. I had a new radiator fitted but at the same time the mechanic advised that he had blown out the oil cooler with a high pressure compessed air hose. This seems to have solved the problem.

I hope this is helpful for people here.

HELLO,
I have the same type van and the same problem. Where do I find the oil cooler in the engine and could I change it myself or is it a garage job?
Thanks
