ive been having a few problems with my bravo. i was out driving and suddenly the rev counter started to go strange, needle would go up as normal and then when id change gear it 'fell' back down to the bottom and started again and just went funny.i wnet home.parked the car and then tried started the car later on and it wouldnt start.did everything in the fault findin section of the haynes manual, test the earth etc.and then the car had to get towed to a garage where they jumped it with a huge battery and it worked and kept starting.now driving about for a day, the rev counter started to go funny again, so i drove it home and parked it.it is not starting again now.help! wots wrong with it?

I had a similar problem with a Citroen XM a few years ago - the rev counter would be all over tha place, the ABS light would come on, and then the car would stop and not restart. If it was jump started it would work OK for a while.

The fault turned out to be with the wiring to the alternator - if you have a voltmeter you can check this by measuring the voltage across the battery when the engine is running - it should be around 13 volts.

yea i'd like to try that but the car does not start at all.the two times it's happened, the rev counter goes all over the place and the car still works, but as soon as i turn the engine off,it will not restart. any other ideas??
