Afternoon all!!!!

Just had the good lady on the blower compaining that the Croma went juddery for a few seconds whilst driving to work!! I forgot to mention that this happened to me on the way to silverstone a week ago!!!! It felt like the car was missing but after about 30 seconds it cleared itself then did it once more about 20 miles later!!!! Then no probs till this morning!!!!!!

I just wondered if this was the beginning of the EGR playing up!?!?!?!? Anyone got any ideas?????

Morning Gents!!

It was on the flat on both occaisions i was doing a steady 95 at the time and no dash lights appeared!!!!! So I'm clueless!!!! Just hoping its an EGR fault.....and nothing more expensive!!!!!???????

I had this happen on mine on the motorway a while back, it was during a DPF regeneration, I backed off a little and it sorted itself out. Has your DPF gone through a full regen recently or has it been interrupted? Doubt it's driveshaft-related at that kind of speed. Excessive EGR (i.e. sticking) may also cause loss of efficiency on one or more cylinders leading to vibration. Hard to tell really - sorry.

HTH.

Given my EGR/DPF nervous twitch - I try to do a weekly M-way run cruising at an indicated 75mph. I leave the flight recorder on [instant mpg] & watch for a mpg knock-back when a DPF regen calls for fuel, & the climb-back when it’s over.

All modern diesels require this Particulate Filter. On mine about every 400 miles I waste about half litre of diesel as the injectors double pulse and its supposed to burn off the black gunge in the filter, at about 600C. It can take 5 to 10 miles to complete. I usually have the instant MPG switched on, at my speed I need something to do, and when this shows half the expected its doing a regen. As I do very little either traffic or motorway driving, it tends to take longer to complete. It is always better to complete the regen.
My last one was a week ago, and I got stuck behind some slow stuff, so took it up our local A road at 3000 rpm, 60 in 3rd, to finish it off.

The Croma is fixed!!!!! And it cost £12!!!!! It also explained why the cruise contol had packed up!!!!! Can anyone guess!?!?!?!?!?!?

BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH!!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately I have access to an OBD reader and even tho no dash lights ever appeaered it was logged as a fault!!!!!!!! The part was cheap getting it in was a different story!!!!! Airbag removal was required!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

I have a similar problem which I suspect is my clutch pedal switch, sometimes it stutters at round about 2000rpm, ecuscan says my clutch pedal switch is open on an intermittent basis.

You begger, yes! With all the recent talk of EGR valves and drive shafts I had forgotten about this fault. It was the first thing FIAT changed when mine played up a couple of years ago.

But I am at an age where I forget a lot of things - forgot the word for garden the other week. Conversation went something like

"Yes darling it's in the.......the......errrmm big green thing at the back of the house, flowers etc."
