Poor microphone sensitivity...again

I don't believe this, having had the mic replaced about two months ago I'm getting very poor microphone sensitivity again.....I could cry.

I've tried to 'Restore defaults' on the radio and also adjusted the external audio level but they made no difference.......people can hardly hear me again.

So.....it's back to Fiat again I guess.....how can my 500 Lounge be totally fine except this....it's the third microphone it'll have had.

Does anyone have any new suggestions, or have you heard of people having this re-occuring problem ??

Mine does this too. I haven't heard the noise people hear myself though. How much does a mic cost for a GP? I asssume it's in the unit with the interior lights?

Your not on your own Phil,we picked up my wifes new 500 1.4 sport on 22nd December and the first time she used B&M it turns out the mic is more or less dead,on the other hand I have had 2 x 1.9MJET Sportings (Series 1 and Series2)and both have not had a fault with the B&M system.

Looks like I've got the same issue with my 500 lounge , had it a couple of weeks now and it only worked properly for a few days, now I can shout at the system and it hardly ever responds. Must be the mic as people say I sound mega distant on the phone, when I'm talking very loudly indeed.

Hi there, i have just noticed this problem with my Fiat 500 Lounge. No one can hear me properly on the phone even when shouting it sound distant they say! I can hear them perfectly! I am using an iPhone 3G! What make of phone are you using? I had no problems with my previous 2 Grande Punto Sportings!

Is this a known problem with the Fiat 500? Think i will be having words with my Fiat Dealer! :-0

I've had the same problem!

I've had my Fiat Punto Grande just under a month at first when I first paired my Iphone 3G to the Blue & Me there wasn't a problem, worked fine.

Now like Ch1s 888 said it now sounds distant even when shouting but I can hear them perfectly fine

Does any one have any ideas? or is it straight back to the fiat?

This may sound a stupid question but where is the microphone? It is the one in the headlining by the interior light? It's not built into the dash where the heater is? Cheers!

If you look up to the roof lining where the interior light is, between the sun visors, there is a small plastic fitment with 3 (I think) parallel grooves in it... this is where the microphone is.

My mic has gone too !

Had it replaced last week !

a few of us who recently bought new Panda 100hp's have had exactly the same problem, tales of woe on the Panda forum, really does seem like almost an entire batch of microphones must have been dud.
