Just wanted to share my recent experience here regarding insurance. I was insuring a 700cc Smart car - I live in West London which is rated E for car insurance so its already through the roof compared to other parts of the country.
Anyway I was recently looking for a different car and decided on a GP, started to look for 1.2 or 1.4 models. I figured these would be slightly more expensive to insure but nothing major. Forum member Dave responded to my thread and suggested I check out a 1.9 Multijet GP. I dismissed the idea at first assuming that the insurance would be more than I would be willing to pay.
Then when I was looking for the perfect car I saw her - Rosso Passionelle red with sports seats and she just happened to be a 1.9 MJet.......It was love at first sight and I had to have her......
Called my insurance company and my insurance went from £40 a month over 10 months to £49 a month over same period fully comp with no claims (15 years) protected.
I still can't figure out how they work it out but I'm not complaining
