Technical Play in steering rack

Hi, my 2001 Scudo was in for MOT and passed, it had 1 advisory which was slight play in steering rack, is there any adjustment on this or is it a new rack assuming it fails next time, thanks for any help, Alan

Bad news, It's a new rack required. common fault. Try around for a recon rack they are available aftermarket and can be obtained for £150.00 exchange. New rack costs around £800.00 . They are a bitch to change, takes about 3&half hours.
