I fitted my pipercross viper to my 1.8 on saturday and i have to say what a difference it makes. the mid range torque is unbelievable. the car is so much more responsive now. i couldnt believe it. its only an air filter. Also you should hear it roar. I'll attach a pic when i get chance.

Mini rob

did you get yours fitted yet mate?

Chris I'm off to pick my Viper up tomorrow night.

probably fit it for the weekend so I'll let you know how it goes.

Briggs you can have my induction kit as if this weekend m8.

I saw mini Rob on saturday night at a dam fine cruise near manchester and he didn't have the filter on then.

Viper

Hi

Just wondering aren't they about £200? Is there
any flat spots? cos I had a k&n on my previous car and
about 2-2500 rpm was no power thats the thing thats put me off doing it on my bravo (1.8) I noticed a big diffrence in torque too. I also have a sports exhaust full system on the bravo so that should help the cause. Is it worth the money?

THANKS

Re: Viper

Definetly worth the money, i have not known an air filter make so much difference on its own. If you already have a performance exhaust as well then you should be well away.

i cant wait for the rolling road day as this is all i will have done to my engine by then so i will be able to see exactly what it has done for the power/torque.

When can I pick it up tonight (only joking)?

You have my mobile don't you? Either post or call me any time

Re: Re: Viper

What other plans have you got for the engine Chris?

too much to afford

i need an exhaust with a sports cat or de-cat pipe before anything really. not much point having extra air flow going in if you cant get it out just as quick is there.

i'd love the 1.8 turbo conversion from novitec but i dont think my lady would be pleased if i spent the house deposit on the car. I'll probably go for a chip after the exhaust then i hear zex are selling dry kits for £350 which sounds nice.

For now though i need some 17in alloys and a set of arbarth side skirts. oh and the number for a paint shop who can mix original fiat colours in heat resistant pain. any ideas?

Re: too much to afford

For the paint try Jessops in Wakefield

For the Nitrous avoid Zex. try noswizard.com if you buy one of these kits with a digital controller you can safely run shots over 100bhp. I'm thinking of selling my kit and buying a Wizard of NOS kit.

The ZEX price is missleading. If you buy it in the states and convert the price from dollars to pounds. It dose work out to be about £350 but then you've got to pay for shipping tax and all that ****** and it ends up well over 550 quid.

Also for the Bravo you'll need a wet kit.

Hope that helps ya bud

Re: Re: too much to afford

Cheers mate, nitrous wouldnt be till next year anyway though. theres other things that need to be done first. How come the bravo uses a wet kit, i though it would use a fogger through the air intake? I dont know a great deal about it though.

if you do go to wizard of nos how much would you be looking to sell yours for or are you not thinking that far ahead yet.

Re: Re: Re: too much to afford

Hi Chris,

I need to look into the solenoid upgrade among other things and see how much more its gonna cost first.
I'm just thinking about it at the mo. NOS do a digital controller as well but I'm not sure how good it is need to do some research. The wizard of nos kits are supposed to be the best by a long shot.

I'll be looking into it over the next few weeks so I'll let you know how I go on if you're interested in my existing kit.

I'd "probably" want 400 quid for the kit but I'd keep the bottle. You can buy the NOS brand bottles seperate for about 100 quid.

Re: Re: Re: Re: too much to afford

let me know if you do decide to swap and i'll look at how my finances are at the time.

by the way, any idea when the rolling road day will be yet?
