Trying to install a pioneer head unit and CD changer, ISO connections, radio works fine but has to have the electric on to work, Power lead from CD changer taps into the yellow lead on the back of the radio (marked backup) BUT no power??
Where the hell is the permanent power line on the wiring harness of a Fiat Brava? wires don't seem to match up with any diagrams I can find HELP HELP HELP.

The red and yellow on the car are the opposite way round, so you have to swap them over on THE BACK OF YOUR H/UNIT or your ignition would be on permanent!

Red and Yellow ???

Thanks for the suggestion BUT the harness on my Brava has some weird colours.

Thick Black (marked on old radio with earth symbol)EASY
Thin Black and Yellow (marked with a star on old radio, illumination I assume)
Thin Orange and Grey (marked on old radio with a number 15)
Thick Red and Yellow (marked on old radio with a number 30)
Thick Red (marked on old radio with the switch symbol)

these 2 I understand

Thin Brown and Grey (marked on old radio SCV)
Thin White and Green (Marked on old radio Tel mute)

OK so ISO might be standard but the car manufactures said F* all about keeping the same colours for the wires or in the same order....... B

Re: Red and Yellow ???

Does the stereo and car all connect together with block connectors? (ISO)
if it does, the previous suggestion should solve your problem. The wires coming direct from the back of your stereo have to be swapped over. Red to yellow and vice versa. And the wiring for the cd changer should plug in as the fitting guide suggests.

Ignore the car wiring colours, the block adaptor will line up the correct wires except for the above red/yellow swap.

Re: Red and Yellow ???

My Kenwood only works with the accessories or ignition on and it's meant to be like that, u sure yours isn't?
