pinking?

Hello

The engine on my 1997 Bravo 1.6sx has recently started making a rattling noise on acceleration with low revs. I have been told it may be pinking.

does anyone know what this is and how I fix it?

i believe the car should adjust itself if it believes it is pinking. if you get it diagnosed at a garage this will tell you if all the sensors are working ok. Are you sure it just isn't age kicking in, mine has the odd rattle at low rev acceleration which i can't be bothered to trackdown.

Pinking is a very specific sound, does not sound like rattling.

Your car is probably just showing its age.

My marea did that too recently. Got some STP injector cleaner, put it in the tank and then filled with Shell and hey presto, new engine!! No sounds!
