Technical performance for 131

hey all, i'm looking for a cheaper way to get some extra performance from my 131 (2L variant). I have put a 2" sports exhaust system on it and am looking at twin carburettors (webers maybe). i am unable to do turbo/supercharger as i won't be able to insure it. Any suggestions with brand/price would be greatly appreciated...

Lighten the flywheel just get it machined, and change the diff. Use 195x55x14 front 205x60x14 rear tyres. Replace struts and Shox when you can.

Twin webers 40 Dcoe's will add about 15 bhp. Biggest gain on Twincams is increased compression ratio and ported head. You can increase CR cheaply by using 1600 pistons. These will give approx 10:2-1 - 10:8-1 depending which you use. Try and find some better cams like 130 ABARTH types. Do not buy Lotus spec cams. They do not work very well. And dont buy reprofiled for the same reason. There is not enough meat on OE cams to do this.
Maybe the cheapest route, is to buy a 130 head and stick it on your engine block.
