as the title kinda indercates. im wondering about the differances between the bravo and the punto of the models around 99 -2000. does any1 have any top MPH figures or BHP numbers. anything realy.

im just toying with a few ideas...

thanx..

bravo 115bhp 9.7 sec
punto 130bhp 8.3 sec

punto has more power plus lighter

thanx you for ur help with that one. im not ready to turn just yet :0) but i was just thinking about a change and thought i should concider sumthing alittle differant. :0)

thanx again.

How about the Punto 1.9 JTD then?

150-170bhp when tuned and goes like stink because of the weight... ;)

(Not for the faint hearted) :)

wow only thought you could do that in a bravo. 170bhp punto, now that would fly.

Nige did have one (not sure if he still has) and he took me for a spin around my works site.

He couldnt get much speed up as there was loads of speed ramps and a 10mph limit, but in between the humps he got to 60 quite easily and the acceleration was quite increadible...lol

the 1.8 hgt puntos are very nice, my mate can keep up with my 155 hgt. but i dont think the interiors are that nice and the engines dont sound too good. (theres a lot of space under the punto bonnet)

My g/f has the HGT punto.
Solid little car and deserving of some respect in a lot of ways. Interior is much better than any Bravo if you remember the fact that it is a Punto - maybe not a luxurious in the plastic way the Bravo is but still a hot hatch.
It will rev round to 7K but the power falls away at about 6K. A result of the high revs is poor economy but it has done 41mpg after an hour on the motorway doing 70mph. Handling is very sporty and feels firm and responsive. Engine can be noisey and a bit of a clatter but it's the same unit as in the Barchetta and i imagine it suits it perfectly.

Best looking Punto so far (no Grande Punto here yet) and a tidy little package for some fun.

I tried following Nige in his Punto to Italfest in 2004. That was fun on the French motorways! It really does shift even with a boot and back seat full of booze!
