Hi All,

My Daughters 2015 500 displayed the airbag light and warning fault (see handbook) I diagnosed this with a generic obd scanner and it displayed B0109. Now her boyfriend had slid the seat all the way back and after a fiddle with the wires and plugs the code reset for months. This happened again recently and again reset? Now it has returned and refuses to reset??? I have unplugged the wires/plugs under the seat, cleaned them but with no success. Could this be the sensor that detects the weight when in use that is to blame? Please all assistance is greatly appreciated.

I had similar on a 2010 Fiat Punto Evo, but was able to get a more thorough diagnosis using my mates Snap On tool.
It was the passenger seat occupancy sensor, unfortunately the previous owners repair had shorted it and destroyed the Body Computer (BCM) I was lucky and got a new BCM from eBay for £149 and although Fiat wanted around £127 for the seat occupancy sensor I was able to get a basic one for £6 from China and soldered the original resister into the circuit, tested it thoroughly before fitting, cleared the error codes and then did a "proxi alignment" using mates tool again so that the BCM could recognise all the components, this was several years ago and car is still going.
I had to remove the seat and foam cover etc. to fit the sensor. Disconnect battery when doing any of this.
