Parts for Mobility car

Hi

Thinking of buying my ex mobility car ..or was till it had its service. Fiat say it needs new shocks because of the rubber mounts but because it has been converted it needs a special size and they cannot source any.

Company that did conversion initially said they could not help as they no longer did fiats and so had no parts. However they later agreed to have car in and they are saying the shocks are fine .

Irrespective of this i am reluctant to buy the car in case shocks do ever need replacing but at the same time find it hard to believe that a standard conversion to take a wheelchair means you cannot source parts..wondering if anyone had similar ?:bang:

It is doubtful they had shocks made specially, they will have found something 'off the shelf' that did the job. They should have build records, or at least purchase records to show what they bought.

Alternatively, pop one off and clean it carefully. See what manufacturer marks are on it.
