So I need a new starter motor, problem i trying to source the right one as I haven't had to do this before, always left to a garage if needed, but funds are low and can't afford their labour

So I checked online fiat and got part number 51832949 with the spec of my van, so put that into Ebay and it came up with some, so clicked on it and when I checked comparability, it said it wasn't compatible and that it was for the 2.3 JTD and not 120 multijet 250 version, so just using the specs of my van on ebay search, it came up with other starters, they were compatible, but not the same part number and I have checked the part number on the old starter and it has obviously been changed before in its history with a cheap version and the the part number can't be found on the internet.

can anyone point me in the right direction

Specs: Ducato 2.3 120 Multijet 250 2007 reg

thanks.

For your year and engine even ePER seems to come up with a few different options

Really not clear on which one's the correct one though, sorry.

thanks for that info, yeah not sure what to go for, just dont wanna waste money buying the wrong part then have to send it back and all that, will need to delve further, cant have the van off the road too long, I am having to keep tapping the solenoid to start it lol

Altho a part I have just looked at did have the delco remy one first picture 2nd down the list

55195967 brings up cheaper versions and most sites including ebay say this is compatible and the ePER2 pictures brought this code up for my van

51832949 which the old ePER brought up, all the sites I have looked at including ebay say its not compatible for my van

so Im guessing best to go with 55195967 as it seems to point to that one and since the one on the van is of no help which has neither of these codes

the now I can tap the starter and it will start, if I send mine to get reconditioned, means my van off the road until I get it back

That's the site where it gave me the first part number that was not compatible as it was for a JTD version
