Parcel Shelf

Hi Evry1,

I am new to the forum and now a proud owner of fiat punto sporting.... just wondering if any1 has a parcel shelf with 6x9's holes cut out if possible. duz ne1 hav 1?

Yup, well 7x10s but the same idea. I did a rush job coz I was bored one afternoon. I just braced teh std shelf with some wood and then went mad with knife / various drills.

If I was doing it properly, I'd make a shelf out of MDF, get it the same shape and profile as the std shelf and cover it with acoustic cloth so the speakers were hidden. Nothing says 'smash my window' like a pair of speakers on display. I find my hastily cobbled together effort bounces a bit over bumps but MDF would be heavier so shouldn't bounce.

Do you wanna learn english? You can buy stealth shelves for the mk2 so no need to make your own.

I actually just did mine in my seicento, when you buy 6x9's they come with stencils you then just copy the stencils and cut out with a craft knife, position the speakers and drill/cut out wholes for the bolts and bolt with washers, if your scared about screwing it up buy a parcel shelf from ebay or somewhere and try it on that.

Or just do the sensible thing and ditch 6x9's to start with as they are ****e
