Uhm... actually, everything's fine, I just wanted to discuss the PANIC button a bit here. I know what it does, but frankly I fail to see any actual scenarios where it might be useful, except maybe finding your car in an underground car lot or something like that. Were there any actual situations where you ended up using this button? Care to share?

What's the Panic button? Where is it? I suspect it may be a feature on your US spec car that isn't fitted to my UK one.
It's on the remote control key/fob.
Normal use is to attract help or scare off an attacker when near the car Basically sets off the alarm. Does seem to be more common on North American cars. Never really saw the point myself....

Sorry, I didn't realize that. It's on the key and it makes the car issue a series of loud honks.

Seems silly to me....
I just thought of a possible usage scenario: The neighbour's cat is about to pee on you car, you press the button, the cat gets scared and runs away. This is quite a realistic situation – the bastard does it all the time with my car.

Was in a Dodge Ram 1500 and when it went off you couldn't ignore it.
I had an allergic reaction whilst in a bar and went into anaphylactic shock. Went to the car to get my Epipen but know I was going to pass out before I get the truck open. Thought I'd hit the button in the hope someone would come and find me and low and be hold they did. I woken up in the ambulance a bit later and didn't die!
Side note, two things saved my life. Panic button and a British couple who came so check on the alarm. The Americans would have just ignored it.
