Castle Combe Classic & Sportscar action day is on 30th June. I have 2/3 spare tickets again this year if anyone is interested?

Last year we had a good display with plenty of Panda's - pics from last year below.

You don't have to go on track - there's plenty to see both on track & in the paddock area. If you want to go out, there are full on sessions, some moderate paced laps, and usually a Club parade lap.

As no-one looks in the social section I've put it in here. It's not in events as I'm only looking to get a couple more Panda's ideally!! (y)

Cheers, Gavin.

VmanC - yours are already accounted for Vernon. Got to keep my chief mechanic/designer/artisan happy haven't I! ;)

Even after Vernon's fleet, there are tickets :p

Oh yes & if anyone wants to drive a car from Bucks to Castle Combe I can find them something suitably Fiat shaped. Try as I might, I can't get them to drive themselves......... (y)

Still debating. Might not take the car on the track as I am trying to preserve it for competition this year. Turbo is looking potentially like its on its way out but will be good to meet up all the same.

Or I could take the 4x4 out for a laugh... still thinking. I will let you know as soon as I can. I am a little pre-occupied with a wedding this weekend (not mine but I am best man) so probably be able to think properly when I get back on sunday!

Another great day at 'The Combe' (y)

The highlight for me last year was taking the Buick round the track on a ' fast ' parade lap. This involves following a safety car, in singe file, for three laps of the circuit. There's no overtaking allowed but the pace was pretty quick, it gave me a real taste of racing a Yank Tank so I was keen to do it again this year

I paid my £15 and signed in myself and four passengers ( also known as human air bags :p ) for the 3pm session. Gavin was up for taking his Panda out too, so at 3pm we were heading out onto the circuit, I was fifth in the lineup and Gavin was sixth

Unfortunately there was no fun to be had. We may have touched a max. of 40mph if we were lucky, thanks to cars no. 1 and 2  The second car was an Austin A35 van ( a la Wallis & Grommit ) trying hard to keep up with a three wheeled Cadbury's cream egg!

Gavin and I wanted our money back, but in true British fashion, we said nothing. To avoid this happening again next year we need a dozen Pandas to attend so that we can book a whole free for all session to ourselves.

There, you have been given a whole years notice, that's how desperate Gavin and I are to never follow a Cadbury's cream egg again.

Spot on Vernon!

With enough Panda's we can have a whole track session to ourselves - now that would be worth watching, and they should all handle better than that Lotus Elise eh Vernon?

For those wondering, some clown in a yellow Elise managed to spin on a parade lap in front of the crowd, and ended up the wrong way round on the grass. :nutter:Bearing in mind it was the slow parade lap mentioned above, and both the Cream Egg and A35 managed the corner, I'd have died with embarrassment. Outhandled by an egg, and posting a slower lap time than the egg too........... :ROFLMAO:

And cue egg puns!! Yes the yolk was on him & I cracked up......... :p

Sorry I couldn't make this thing. I have the Marbella in pieces at the moment trying to sort out the huge list of problems it has!! I'd like to think that soon the car will be truly finished but then when is any project / race car ever truly finished

We will have our time on the track, as you say plenty of warning for next years :D Hope you can all keep up with me

Si
