Hi everyone,

I seem to have accidentally rescued another Panda - cost far too much but I felt sorry for it

Still on the positive side it drives well apart from the new clutch which is urgently needed as it gives a new meaning to slipping!!!

A few obvious issues I'd like some ideas on:

It seems to be running on when I turn it off - any ideas what the problem is & how to cure it? Oops, should say it's a 1986 1000CL so no twiddly injection type stuff.

Seats look past hope really (worn and dirty) - don't suppose anyone has a clean set of CL ones kicking around? I think it was once a velour type cloth with a light bluey/grey pattern judging by the dash trim.

Oh and if anyone has a NS door mirror or a spare driver's door (pref pale blue, but I'm pushing it here! ;) ) please let me know.

Many thanks from the hopeless case Fiat sanctuary (aka Gavin) (y)

The running on problem is probably the fuel cut off thingy on the carb, think it is on the front of the carb, if you take it off you should be able to see it move when the ignition is turned on and off.

Happy to hear another Panda has been saved(y) Make sure you upload some pics:)

know the feeling gavin, i own 3 panda`s .will you put some pic`s of the interiour, I may have the seats you want

Alternatively, take the covers off and bung in washing machine on lowest wash. Poppi's seat covers came up a treat . . . .

Congrats on saving another Panda btw (y)

Hi,

Thanks for the ideas. The seats are the same as the pic above - only worse..... :yuck: Hadn't realised you could wash them - might be worth a go, but they are worn & faded under all the oil, so I could do with new ones really.

A few pics below - the paintwork is really dull and it doesn't show in these (amazing what a bit of damp weather does). I did spend an hour with T-cut and half the roof now shines, so it might be presentable in a few years

New clutch and tyres done, so now for the odd running - it's also jerking when you ease off the accelerator (worse in traffic) - a bit like when the HT leads are going, but not on acceleration

Anyway, here's the rescued Panda - no name yet if anyone has a printable idea!!
