Does anyone know whats been done to the Panda for this facelift?.
Iwas in at the local dealer, looking at a Panda, only to be told that the new model with the facelift would be in some time over the next 2 weeks.
I knew the Punto was getting a tart up but was unaware that the Panda was due to get the same treatment.

Ian.

News is out there that it will be a facelift for the 2010 MY, new grille, mirrors and 1.2l will be 69bhp as per the Fiat 500.

I guess this Panda is here to stay for awhile. Still a great car if you use it for what it is supposed to be, particularly after returning to Britain where there are speed cameras everywhere, makes one wonder why buy a BMW when you can only do 50mph with all the road works on the motorways which does not seem to ever stop.

Still pretty small beer in terms of changes. Though having driven the 69bhp in a 1.2 500 last week it really is nothing to write home about.

Buy a BMW because you can afford one and because it's a far nicer place to be than a Panda. (y)

Although most people will assume you're an (insert insult here) (y)

Couldn't agree more ! anyone else noticed that they've deleted the indicator stalk from most models too!! As a biker also it terrifies me.

I saw the new Panda at A.C. in Dunfermling this afternoon.
Yep its got new wing mirrors, they look as though they should be on a transit van. New grill, its ok, if you like the look of a cheese grater, and it looks like the 500 dash is now in the panda. I DONT THINK I LIKE IT.

As for BMW's I dont like them either, and never have donw, will stich to Audi any day.......LOL

cheers Ian

Depends....Not all BMWs are better than all Fiats are they?

Plus it's that kind of elitism that attracts a lot of (add insult here again) (y)

Well to look at all BMWs and Fiats and compare would be getting on for a pointless pedantic exercise really. But, if a decent 6 pot BMW costs in the region of 25K it simply becomes a matter of economics in what you can afford really.

I can't afford a BMW but it is my ambition to be able to buy a new one someday. It might take me some time climbing the new car ladder and promotions at work would help, but having owned a 325i coupe before (which I loved) and having been in a number of BMWs, they are simply brilliant cars to drive and to own.

Fiat do brilliant small cars and they are cheap and affordable, nothing wrong with that.

Put it this way if I could afford a new BMW I'd most certainly have one. Has to be a six pot though. (y)

To be fair to BMW owners I think a lot of the (add insult here yet again) have gone over to Audis due to the fairy lights!

I doubt if I could ever justify spending £25K on a car, but if I could I think I'd be buying a nice little £8K Fiat and a £17K weekend fun car!

Fair enough. I guess my pet hate on SMF's (single make forums) is the manner in which people are quick to slag off other makes of cars and their drivers.

Let's face it there are so many great cars out there to drive. As a result of that I never limit myself to one make and just enjoy trying different cars. I've done the weekend car thing, it's fine but I find that for example with my integra R, I hardly get the chance to drive it really and spend 95% of my time in the 100hp. When I originally bought the MJ I figured it's okay I've got my Integra to play with at weekends if I really want to drive something good. Trouble is I didn't really get round to it and ended up hating the MJ. This resulted in an upgrade the 100hp.

So I think that from now on I wil try and incorporate the fun into my main car.

Continuing the off-topic theme: if I could afford a new BMW, I buy a used Maserati. But then again, I'm a dreadful badge snob... :D

Here is the problem with most makes of car and the people who drive them - Buying a 25K high powered car with a fancy badge , A) Doesn't make you anymore important than anyone else and B)Doesn't make you into a racing driver ! The amount of times someone in a sports pedigree car will be slowing down to stupid and dangerous levels when there is a bend or another car coming the other way, or will actually park up to wait to go through a gap that you could fit a bus through sliding sideways.... but then they get on the motorway and shoot off at 100+ !... no wonder there are so many accidents.... its the same people who don't seem to think they need to stop or wait at junctions and cause chaos to the traffic they are "merging" with.... personal opinion, they should fit a button in all cars that allows you to send a message to the driver in question that they are a prat and prints out the relevant part of the highway code showing the infringement they've made on video... !

Obviously, BMW make premium cars. Any tom dick or harry can get a loan/credit and buy a bmw. I personally get great pleasure in reading car mags every week, knowing there was (and still isn't) any better way to spend £8000. I have been impressed with the 100hp, I was a fiat virgin.

I really couldn't sleep losing £8000 just running a 320 for a year!! (y)

Exactly. My previous car was a Corolla, now I drive a Panda MJ, who knows what I'll be driving next? I certainly don't.

Getting hung up on a badge is silly when all makes have had both great and terrible cars at different times. Heck, I'm going one step further, why limit yourself to just cars? I'm getting my motorcycle license come spring and I've got my eye on a sweet Suzuki.

There's so much great stuff to try, why on earth people artificially limit themselves like they do, I have no idea.

(If I had the money, I'd probably be driving a BMW with 6 meaty cylinders as well, but you can't spend more than you earn for very long without getting into deep trouble)

Maybe on other forums, but on here everyone is very open-minded, it's just that we all know that Fiats are the best cars in the world.
Especially the Panda Multijet.

I could easily finance a bmw...but I don't believe in hp (hire purchase that is)... so I bought a Panda outright instead, reducing my fun but more importantly reducing my tax...so I can spend more on other fun things :)

Much as I would like one, I'd never get a brand new bmw, unless the company was paying!

Besides, i'm an inverted badge snob :) Well, actually I wanted a great small car and that's what FIAT make!

A) Can't see why I'd be more important than someone else just because I can afford a 25K car.

B) I'm already a racing driver.
