I have a question. Since my Exhaust from my fiat 1000 Cl i.e. 1990 is damaged Iahve to replace it. I can buy an Exhaust from an Panda build in 1987 from someone. Does this fit on my newer Panda without a problem? Please help. Kind regards,

Martijn de Haan

I'm assuming that the 1987 model is a FIRE engined Panda? These were introduced from 1986 so I would have thought that it would fit ... but I could be hopelessly wrong :)

Well, there's seems to be some difference in a single and a double "thing" in the exhaust. Tha's all I know off.

You say yours is a 1000CLie ( model not sold in the UK) so I assume that it is SPI but does it have a CAT? Does the 1987 car that you propose to take the exhaust from, also have SPI and/or a CAT ?
Do you have the VIN numbers of both vehicles ?

Hello Marko.
Which exhaust your 4X4 has will depend on year and model.
Carb with standard exhaust, SPI with standard exhaust and SPI with a catalitic converter in the exhaust, are all possible.

If you are not sure, send me your VIN number and I will check it out for you.

Actually I don't have panda yet, but i want to know why Slovenia will probably get new law about exhaust gas. Therefore I want to know which pandas do have catalysts. can I get 7 or 8 years old panda with it?

In the UK, all new petrol cars had to be fitted with a CAT from 1992 onwards. I am told but cannot be certain, that in Europe this practice stated as early as 1989.

As Panda production officially ended on the 5th September 2003, I think it is reasonable to assume that any Panda of seven or eight years will have a CAT as standard. The legality of removing a CAT and replacing with a non CAT exhaust ( this would not be acceptable in the UK ) will depend on the situation in your country.
Please let us know how you get on.
Rgds, Pete.
