Need to get the Panda 4x4 onto axle stands so I can get the wheels off for refurb. No problem with the rear, two stands under the back axle, but where do I put the stands at the front? Is the sump cage strong enough to take the weight? Can't see any obvious place to put them. I know theres a single jacking point centre front under the bumper but this would only take one stand.Would two at the back and one at the front be enough.
Thanks in advance Kev.

You can jack the front up using the bars on the reinforced sump shield with a trolley jack and put axle stands either side of the jack.
Just be aware that if you lift the front first and put in the stands, when you come to lift the rear via the back axle, the jack will try to pull the car backwards so there is a chance you can pull the car off the front axle stands with disastrous results.

I wouldn't use the sump guard, (maybe near to where it's attached). I tend to jack and support off the suspension components. At the moment my panda is sitting with axle stands under the front of trailing arms and i jacked off the clutch bell housing. I don't trust the jacking point in the center at the front, if they're at all rusty it will collapse. A good rule of thumb if it starts to bend or deform don't jack there!

The front jacking point behind the front wheel arch, is this the part which looks like it's been beefed up with extra metal immediately behind the arch or do you mean the socket which takes the supplied jack?
Sorry for my ignorance, still finding my way around the Panda.

Yep, I mean the bit right behind the front wheel.

What I usually do is jack the car up on the jacking point in the middle of the sill (where the socket thing is) and then place the stand under the bit behind the front wheel. Just make sure that the jack wont go through the floor before you do it though!
