Meet TED:slayer: £63.65 from ebay 2006, officially scrapped in 2001.(so please dont slate me for ruining a 4x4)

For the last two years Ted has been a useful addition to my Dads farm moving logs, rubble, machinary, dogs, fallen trees, stranded LDV's etc.
starts first time everytime

Having shed most of his plastic parts and bullbars front and rear, bonnet scoop and grill with fogs and given them to Honey:slayer: one of my other 4x4's Ted has decided to assimilate his friend erde the trailer.

May he give me many more years of faithful service, long live TED:slayer:

Teds cool! and probably a lot easier to load tham a landy/hilux.

Are you going to convert to a dumper?

The trailer should tip quite well once it has some hinges welded on and a car jack to push up heavy loads.

Also been giving consideration to adding a recovery style winch/crane :D

By the way folks Ted is not finished yet he's having some erde mud guards for the front wheels and a Jeep style Grill n bumper:eek:

I might know someone who has a winch she no longer needs if you are interested.

Sounds very interesting! i'd like to see it autoamtic / semi-auto. push a button in the cab, back lifts, dumps load, returns, drive off. could be the smallest dumper truck ever?

I do have enough pnuematic cylinders and valves from an old steel sheet stacking m/c but the problem is I need very small compressor and reciever tank and Ted doesn't really have room. Have thought:idea: of using spare tyre air pressure but I think the simplest way is still a scissor type car jack which I already have a couple.(y)

Thanks to Udtrev for the winch offer but I move machinary for a living so have more than enough old lifting gear lying around.(y)

Will be welding TED:slayer: back together on Thursday night. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for your interest folks.

Just an idea,

How about something like this to raise the tipper body (ex trailer)

Would still need a compressor i guess the Trev... or some healthy legs and a well oiled foot pump!

I could be wrong Craig, but Trev should be able to confirm, but I believe that airbag jack is inflated by a pipe being put onto the end of an exhaust on a car, and then the engine is revved to inflate it!

Jon.

Like the idea but seeing that Disco has reminded me that I have an old bottle jack from a 70's Range Rover somewhere. Jack handle between the seats, job done I think and no getting out to attach hose to exhaust.
