i hit a fox the other night, shame i didnt kill it after it destroyed my bumper

i didnt swerve to miss it i would end up with an even more damaged car, its a split second decision that has to be made, there is no right decision on this one

Give the dude a break, it's fair play, I'd also rather kill a random lump of wildlife than my car, myself, or someone else on the road. And maybe I've got a sick sense of humour (infact, there's no maybe about it, I'm evil  ) but I thought it was pretty funny

(incidently, in the arcade 'Just Not Cricket' you get to beat badgers to death with a cricket bat... ;))
...and this just cracked me up :D

There a joke in there somewhere about a panda killing a badger but I can't think of a punchline

Afraid I'm gonna have to side with Mr Ross at the start of this thread. The safety of you and your passengers is more important than some dozy animal that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Yes, it's a shame that they get killed, but rather that than someone endangering themselves or others to save a dumb animal's life.
I killed a pheasant a couple of weeks ago, couldn't brake hard as there was a car close behind me, didn't see the bird it until too late as it ran out from the shrubbery. The other options were run the car into the ditch, or ram the car coming towards me head on on his side of the road.

Unfortunate I'm afraid, but sometimes there's no other option.

(Before anyone starts, I was doing around 50 on a 60 limit road.)

did you eat the pheasant? :)

depends how you look at it pete, i would be totally gutted if i hit any animal, and i kinda dont agree with you that they are dumb, road isnt a natural thing and animals can be like children if they arent aware of the danger then they dont know how dangerous a rd can be, i think if you have an oppurtunity to miss it then obviously do, the end of the day its a living thing and deserves a chance to live like anyone else, having worked with animals for over 10 years then i can fully appreicate how inteligent they are unlike a few people i know. not preaching but i think some people should be a bit more considerate.
