i have been looking at this to go with my new Panasonic Plasma telly, but dont know if its worth splashing out the cash for it.

i want better sound but my living room isnt really suitable for a 5.1 system to work properly as nowhere for rear speakers, or should i just run it through the spare input on my seperates system (and just have stereo), the seperates system is an expensive system

i wouldnt pay that price

this is my panny stand

£80 end of line :p beefs up the sound a lot but i just couldnt pay that price personally

thats my dilema- i got a store to do it for basically £5 above cost, but its still £500. when did you get yours and where from?

currys,was a few months ago
you wouldnt find any stock now im afraid
pity you didnt post a few months back as i knew of one ex demo one local to me

might be worth popping into currys and asking them to check "Panasonic SCHTR310EBK " for stock
thats the bigger version than mine.it was going for around £200 clearence

or try another brand?

Sony RHTG550.CEK TV Stand with Built in Speakers and: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

okay no viera link but a big saving
whaever you pick it will kick the built in speakers ass
often wonder why they dont make these new TV's thicker and put proper speakers in them
my old JVC CRT has a subwooffer and centre speaker built in
my LG built in speakers are passible at best TBH

cheers custard, given me an excuse to go out in the bravo now!!

take a wander down to the TV bit and look at the stands.its easy to miss these speaker system ones as its usually quite dark at that part.
look out and see if you can get a deal on a demo one.my own was ex demo with no price/signs on it so it looked like a normal stand

a sound bar is another option

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...Cinema-Speaker-System/Product.html?P36=HZKM33 also get quidco on play.com so you can get a bit off

always a compromise but im in the same boat where a full on set up isnt practical

there was none :( and they denied stocking it

well its probably off their system now as it was an end of line item
i would look around at other makes an balance features/price
the panny one you linked is olny 2 speakers vs the older 3.1 set up i have
not having a panny unit only loses the viera link and no other functionality with HDMI linking

if i buy a reciever and seperate, (im thinking 3.1) will the HDMI link up, say on a Onkyo system allow me to control volume and power via the HDMI signal?

also seen this but not in the flesh and no reviews so it might be cack
