Technical palio over heating.

my palio was running hot and kept on over heating. funny thing was that if i pust it into high revs it would cool down for a bit. i now have taken the thermostat out and now it runs cool, no more over heating. what i now want to know is? was it i good idea to take the thermostat out, can i drive it like this, or should i try and find why it overheated? any thoughts or info about this will be apreciated.

The thermostat of the 1,6 is a weak point, just fit a new one, and you'll be fine.

2002 palio 1.2.
The thermostat that i took out was stil new. about 6 months old. it was fitted when a burnd valve was replaced.

Even a new part can go bad in a short time.
Are you sure you did use the correct thermostat for your engine?

replaced the thermostat again. look like the one that was in got stuck for some reason. Runs fine now.
