Tuning Palio "Hunting"

Have just rebuilt a Palio 1.6 motor. Runs fine, plenty of power, but on tick-over the engine is hunting. Suspect a vacuum problem. What else must I check. Also, when I rev the motor it takes for ever for the revs to drop

Check for airleaks (in the bends) of the large hose between the inletmanifold and the aircleaner.

Thanks, will do. Can the injector seals cause a problem?

Don't think so.
Did you have the ECU read already for stored faults?

I honestly do not know. Where do I find the write-up. Thanks

I mean: go to a dealer or specialist, and have the ECU scanned at the OBD port for stored faults.
It takes only about 10 minutes to do, and you will know in what direction to go, regarding the misbehaving of your engine.

Could be a faulty Idle Air Control valve ( IAC), if it's a pre 10-1999 model.

Thanks, but the problem has gone away. Rechecked all the obvious then changed the plugs. That is because initially, the engine overheated and seized, and the plugs were the only items not replaced. Believe it or believe it not. Maybe I just got lucky.
