Hi,
I've got a 2003 Multipla JTD which developed an engine management fault which meant the car went into limp home mode (<3k revs).
I've changed the MAF and removed and cleaned the EGR (which was pretty bad), fault went away for a while then returned.
I've had the car diagnosed at an indy and the only fault it's getting is P0110 which is an Intake air temp cct problem, this makes sense as the car is fine starting and when cold, the fault usually occurs when in 5th and accelerating beyond 3k.

Is the Intake air temp sensor integrated with the MAF or is it a separate item in which case where is it and are there any known fixes?

Could still be the EGR if its not operating properly, sometimes they just have to be replaced or blanked off but the latter is not the perfect solution... damned EGR's....

Hi mate and WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

The air intake temperature sensor is indeed in the MAF sensor. As you have replaced the MAF, its unlikely that both of the sensors will be faulty, as a result I would look at the wiring to the MAF sensor. The connector can become damaged due to its proximity to the cooling pipes and air box. If you have a mutimeter, there are a few checks you can do.

The temp sensor cable is the bottom one in the MAF connector block when the clip is on the right hand side iirc

Hope that helps,
Alan

yes.

personally i would fit a scrapyard MAF.

you could try a cheap ebay MAF, sometimes they are good sometimes they are crap. i look at it like this, the bosch originals are guaranteed to be crap so why not take a chance on a cheaper MAF.

Thanks for the swift replies, forgot to mention that when I cleaned the EGR I blanked off the thing so as to not to get the problem again.

Faulty connection sound feasible, however testing out the connector isn't an option as I haven't got a wiring diagram, although I presume they terminate on the multi-connector associated with ECU in the passenger footwell?
It was an Ebay MAF but it is a Bosch unit (or at least it says it is!).
