Re: Re: Own font - number plates

how cute are you??

the number is R117 GUD

i just want to split up the R117 fromt he GUD a bit + have a completely plain number plate - no graphics, nothing - just the numbers, i dont want a squiggly font, just simple + clean.

if u can do this then cool!

:)

Hi Mel and welcome back.

The good news:

You can get your "show" plates done here:
http://www.topgear-sales.co.uk/reg_plates.htm

They can do plates in any font found in MS Word for £18.95 or £34.95 a pair

The bad news:

All registration marks including marks purchased through DVLA's sales scheme must be displayed in accordance with The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 (obtainable from Her Majesty's Stationery Office).

Rules for the display of number plates are set out in law, briefly these are: -

A number plate must be displayed at the front and rear of motor vehicles (with some exceptions).
Number Plates must be easy to read and meet the British Standard.
Lettering should be black on a white plate at the front and a yellow at the rear.
The background surface should be reflex-reflecting but the characters must not.
There are separate requirements for traditional number plates displayed on vehicles constructed before 1 January 1973.
Lettering and spacing must be of a set size. They must conform to one of the groups shown at:- Number plates fitted after 1 September 2001 or Number plates fitted before 1 September 2001.

Re: Re: Re: Own font - number plates

I have a set of Italic plates and I've only ever been stopped ONCE, and that's coz I was in central london and the Congestion Charge cameras cannot read it. Thats what the copper said.

I've ben followed loads of times by cops but NEVER stopped.

On the plus side, I gave the 'legal' pair in the boot and the copper just told me to use the italics for cruising only.

I like your idea though, I fancy a set of 'clean' plates. I'm bored of the italics now.

Jay.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Own font - number plates

There is a shop near me who can do the plates.
He says you must have the company address who you bought them off and the plate serial number on the bottom.
He can remove them both but you have to sign a disclaimer.

I've getting completely basic plates but also getting BRAVO HLX in the place where the address should be.
