Ok well i was walking to tesco yesterday and as i'm walking past some traffic lights theres this kid on a moped. He's sitting there revving his bike and obviously gets bored waiting for the lights to change so drives up onto the pavement and past me across the pedestrian crossing on 2 roads then drives off down another road. Now this was a clear breach of the rules of the road and was dangerous as he zoomed right past me on the pavement.

I know his numberplate, do i report him.

As Rob said really, report it (if you're good at form filling) but don't expect anything to be done!

report it because if they catch him doing something else it will be on their system and he will get copped for it at the same time.

The worst that could,(but prob. won't) happen to him is that he gets a word of warning from plod

- which might just make him think again the next time he's tempted to do something similar.

I concur. report it.

Please report him, these idiots need taking off the road. Unfortunately Joe Public clubs them all together with the rest of us and terms them bikers. If I had my way I would ban the lot of em! Chavs on squeeze and go's, grrrr, but it's sunday morning so will put away the soapbox now.

most motocyclists refer not to be lumped in with the 'bikers' either seeing as they are mostly over 40 and drive fast sportsbikes too fast, and dangerously, when thye should probably know better. Most of the time i'm a motorcyclist, and only on occasions, am i a biker....

Have to agree with you Buzz. Although there are exceptions, most young 'uns just want to ride a plastic rocket with matching girlfriend on the back! I take the label 'biker' as being a teacher the kids like to classify you, and beleive me it's better than the names most teenagers can come up with.

often a motorcycle / moped doesn't have enough mass to trigger the traffic lights.

I have sat at traffic lights (on the island exit of the m42)for nearly 5 mins without them changing before. As soon as a car came along they changed instantly.

If the lights don't change after a reasonable amount of time i will if necessary (and only if safe to do so) cross a red light on my bike.

Very true, there are solutions though, a glorified bar magnet is on sale to produce a response from these traffic lights.

As it happens, this was not the case in this instance.
