OT: Any one know about lap tops?

ive recently bought a second hand laptop.
intel celeron 2.4ghz, 512 ram, no make or anything, had xp re-installed on it by my uncle to wipe it, but now i cant get any sound to work, im guessing i need to get the drivers from somewhere for the soundcard? does anyone know how i find out what sound card ive got? and where to get the drivers from?
any help greatly appreciated.

Try doing a Windows Update. That might find an updated, XP approved driver. Failing that, you might need to open the lappy up to find out the make.

Try using the System function from Control Panel and see if that throws anything up. Look in device manager and let Windows search the net for drivers.

Recently re-installed XP on my dads laptop and he lost sound too. He had a CD that came with the laptop and installed the sound drivers from that. It now works fine.
