But if there was black ice on the road surely you wouldnt know it was there?

This is a situation where until its happened to you, you cannot really comment on who's fault it was.

Steve, go a bit easy, they've admitted liability. Ok if someone gets seriously injured it's obviously no compensation, but thankfully no-one was.

As for the rear ending, I went into the back of someone but for once it was not my fault. I was driving down a road and some idiot in an Escort overtook me on the wrong side. I checked my left to ensure no-one was there should I need to swerve, I looked up and the Escort was heading for a head on. I've hit the breaks and He swerved back into my lane, nearly taking the whole side of my car out (Lucky enough I checked my left cos I needed the extra space to swerve!) Having avoided a near 3 car pile up, I'm just about to start accelarting and he slammed on his breaks...quite obviously the gap weren't that big so I've touched the back of him.

There was no damage yet he claimed his boot didnt open. He won the case because there was no witnesses and my insurance company said his story made more sense

These are 2 totally different cases but it shows that sometimes, somethings are just unavoidable

Sorry - sympathy?

The person who has my sympathy is the one who was rear-ended by a ****wit.

Although he's sort of admitting it was his fault, he's also making pathetic excuses rather than learning from his mistakes.

Erm, 'G Spag' - you started to accellerate even though the gap was too small to stop?

Your fault. No matter what the circumstances.

but he didnt do anything wrong. when you are in heavy traffic you drive slower and alot closer to the car in front than you would normally. the fact that he didnt do loads of damage would show this if you'd actually bothered looking. he was trying to be helpful to the police by moving out of their way safely by checking his blind spot, so does this sound like something a ***wit would do?

steve, what bit of not the place dont you understand, now get of your high horse. you driving god you
(end sarcasm)

@ Beeson - it was a renault motherbus thing, because i was hard on the brakes my bumper went clean underneath his.
just the headlight washers are scratched.

Ok after driving a hell of a lot of miles in the last 24 hours ive seen at least 8 crashes on the M1, 4 being on the way home tonight. And this post being full of hormones i got sick and had to reply.

After being stuck in a hell of a lot of traffic around these crashes, i can understand where your coming from Black Bravo.

@Steve accidents happen mate simple as, no matter whos fault it is. The poor lad is gutted about his car, what's in it for you to get on your high horse.

This forum is about the lovers and owners of Bravo/a's. Not a forum to bitch on.

Ok said what i wanted, (and i know its coming) bitch as much as you like about me.

Aren't matters so easy with the benefit of hindsight?

Unfortunately the grim reality is that you were to blame. You can't go back. Move on, see it for what it was and try to learn from it. Fortunately no one was injured. You will now have this experience which hopefully help you avoid having a further a collision.

I think you will learn another lesson. Crow about things that show you in a positive light otherwise don't crow.

Come on children put your hand bags away. its obvious he was too close there could be no other way of achieving hitting the car in front lol. its nothing major its been bumped it can be fixed no one was hurt.

@ steve Look at it this way it will improve his driving cos, i sure bet he wont do it again in a hurry!!

Some people are naturally cautious but for most of us it takes a bump or two to teach us our limits. that's why new drivers pay more insurance!!

so every one take a chill pill say sorry and agree to disagree if you feel so strongly that you are both in the rite

actually, you could be 100 feet away, turn to look over your shoulder, and when you turn round, be about to hit the car in front. Granted you'd have to be looking for a bit too long, but that doesn't negate the fact that 100 feet still might be too close.... even at 60mph, the two second rule wouldn't save you!

i presume you'll fix her with that wee bump mate?

by eck some people.... ok im really really gutted for u mate.

Ash.. ur a fine 1 to talk.. any poor sod following u even at the required stopping distance will rear end you if u hit the brakes.. u've already proved that in ur post about causingt an accident due to supprior breaking power!

Accidents happen, hence y they are called accidents.

The worse feeling in the world is knowing your going to run into the back of some1 and there is NOTHING you can do about it.

Give the poor guy some slack, his car didn't stop in time!

I nearly didn't have a bravo 2day cos a person in a fiesta decided he wanted to be in my lane, so just pulled across. It was only due to being VERY aware of all cars around me I hit the brakes BUT I was also awear that any1 following me wouldn't be expecting me to brake at that time.

We all expect peoples driving to be a certain way eg....

Stay in ur lane, indicate b4 moving across...

Don't need to stop at a CLEAR round a bout...

Pratically stop when driving over a rail way crossing...

Be ready to go at green lights...

Give way to the right at mini round abouts...

Stop for no bloody reason on a straight road when you've been quite happily driving along at 40mph etc..

Have a complete pannic attack when you hear a siren or see blue lights..

And finally my altime favorite... if you're stoped at traffic lights and a Blue Light service vehical comes up behind you.. you may cross over the line safely and GET OUT THE BLOODY WAY!!!!

rant over.. steve, u've really niggled me this morning!
